GENERAL FAQ

I don’t live in Toronto. Can I still work with you?

Of course! Whether it is buying something directly from the shop or working on a custom piece, we can make it happen! I am happy to schedule meetings via email, phone, voice notes, as well as video call.

Let’s do this.

How do I figure out a ring size?

Ideally, I'd like to size my clients myself, however if that isn't possible, the best course of action is to visit one or two local jewellery stores near you. Finger sizing can be tricky and I try to get a good average when possible; fingers can even change size over the course a day.

If the ring is for someone else, your best bet is to measure the interior diameter of a ring that they own, in millimetres. It is imperative that the ring being measured is worn on the same finger that the new ring is intended for. Alternatively, you can send me a picture of the person who the ring is intended for and I will do my best to determine an average size.

I ordered a ring but the size is incorrect. Now what?

If a ring purchase is a surprise and the ring needs to be sized for the first time at a later date, we offer one complimentary sizing within the first 3 months of purchase.
Clients are responsible for shipping item(s) back.
Additional fees will apply to any adjustments after 3 months from the time of purchase, or if multiple adjustments occur within the same period.

For international clients - if your ring needs adjustment after purchase we suggest using a local jewellery store. However, we can not be responsible for any damages that may occur.
We can still offer you a complimentary initial resizing with us, but it will be the client's responsibility to cover all shipping and/or duty costs.

Do you ship internationally?

Please check out the Shipping & Returns page for more info!

Are your pieces one of a kind?

My Collections page features various lines of production jewellery (Geometria, Signets). Each piece is still handmade, but no, they are not one of a kind.

My Wedding & Engagement page features some rings that I have made over a few times for different clients, but each ring will always be slightly different. No two stones are exactly the same, and if the ring is hand-carved or hand-textured, there will always be the “mark of the maker” ;)

Do you offer insurance or guarantees?

Every piece is triple checked for any defects before it gets shipped out. However, due to the nature of handmade work, there are very rare circumstances where something may be not be in perfect or pristine condition.

We will replace any stones 2mm and smaller within the first 3 months of purchase.

We can size and adjust anything free of charge within the 3 months of purchase.

Refinishing on un-plated items is complimentary within the first 12 months. There is no guarantee on plated items. While every item is plated with a thicker than average layer, every person’s individual chemical makeup and skin reactions can cause different effects on gold plating that are out of our control.

We do not insure loss, theft, daily wear-and-tear, and/or possible chipping of stones. Any stone, even a diamond, can be chipped during an accident or if hit against a tough surface.

Customers will be responsible for extra shipping costs to and from our studio.

CUSTOM FAQ

I like one of your designs, but I want to change a few things. Is this possible?

Of course! I love custom work. Any design that you see can be edited in terms of metal color/karat, stone type, overall size, texture, and more.

What does the custom process look like?

Step 1 is, of course, contacting me. Even if you don’t have a concrete idea of what you are looking for. We’ll talk it out and figure it out together. You are welcome to send me pictures or a mood board of things you are interested in. Every project is different, and the process can look a little different every time. Generally, we will figure out a timeline, budget, materials, and overall design options.

Once we settle on a single design, I will provide you with a final quote or estimate.

After the quote has been approved, a 50% deposit is taken to secure the order and the materials.

Next, I will usually create a completed sketch or wax model which will be used for your approval before starting work in metal. At this point I will be able to provide an estimated date of completion, unless a deadline was already previously agreed upon. Once the model is approved and the work in metal has started, there can be no more changes to the design or details.

A visual example of the process can be seen on my Custom Page.

My budget is low. Will you still work with me?

I am happy to work within a budget. Realistically, you may not get exactly what you are imagining within the budget you are looking for, but I am here to guide you along the process and show you different options so that you are happy with the end result without emptying your bank account. Knowledge is power!

How long does custom work take?

I like to give a range of 2 to 8 weeks depending on timing for material sourcing and quantity of consultations with my clients.

Once all final decisions are made, turnaround time is typically 1 to 3 weeks (this is included in the 2-8 week timeline)

Will you use my family gold or stones?

The short answer is yes! Using your own gold, gemstones, and diamonds can be a special way to add some sentimentality to your new custom piece; also who doesn’t love recycling!

There are two ways we can do this - we can use your gold as monetary credit towards your new piece, or we can use your gold directly into the casting of the new piece.

It is not possible to recycle all types of jewellery and/or stones, as a result an assessment is required. This can be done either in-person or by sending me high quality images. Once the assessment is complete, we can discuss further.

Do your rings comes with appraisals?

Yes! Appraisals are highly recommended for pieces that are over $1000 and/or pieces that include diamonds. Appraisals can be added to you homeowners/tenant insurance plan to cover your investment in the event of loss or theft.

Every appraisal comes with a full break down of the piece: the gold karat and the amount in grams, stone measurements, weight, other specifications, and insurance replacement value.

Appraisals require the receiver’s name and address to be printed on the certificate in order for the piece to be added to an insurance policy. For this reason, every ring comes with an appraisal upon request, prior to shipping, at no additional cost.

Please allow 1 - 2 weeks for shipping if you require an appraisal for an in-stock ready-to-purchase ring.
